You can choose one of my individual packages, or go for shared care, where the lovely Claire and I team up to support you through pregnancy, birth, and beyond. What is shared care?

Meet the dream team.

Claire and I often team up to offer shared care, because two doulas can sometimes be better than one.

We’re both with you for your antenatal sessions, both just a call or WhatsApp away, and both bringing our own knowledg, experience and calm presence to your journey. And the best part? You won’t ever have to rely on a backup doula you’ve never met. One of us will always be there when you need us.

We can help you prep for birth, support you on the day, or jump on a call if you’re trying to make sense of your options. Basically, whatever you need, we’ve got you. Two doulas, one team (wooly hats optional).

You're also totally welcome to join our monthly group antenatal sessions, run under Alongside Birth; a lovely way to get prepped, meet others, and feel a bit more ready for what’s ahead.

WHAT IS A DOULA?

What does a doula do (-la)?

A birth doula is someone who supports you — emotionally, physically, and practically — before, during, and after birth. I’m here to support you and your partner,

in feeling informed, calm, and confident throughout the journey.

I’m not here to tell you what to do or push any agenda — I’ll never do that. What I will do is make sure your voice is heard, and that you’ve got the information you need to make choices that feel right for you. I’ll support you in planning the kind of birth you’d like — whether that’s at home, in a birth centre, on a labour ward, or in theatre. And if things change? I’ll still be there, supporting you every step of the way.

As a birth doula based in Edinburgh, I support homebirths, birth centre births, labour ward births and caesareans—and I work with families across Scotland to provide care that feels calm, personalised and rooted in your needs.

Why have a doula?
Evidence shows that having consistent support from a doula during pregnancy and birth can :

  • Lower the chances of induction

  • Reduce the need for pain relief

  • Decrease the likelihood of an instrumental or caesarean birth

  • Shorten labour

  • Reduce anxiety

  • Boost confidence

  • Improve your overall memory and experience of birth

  • Increase the likelihood of starting breastfeeding

If you're looking for a Scottish doula who will support your decisions and help you feel more prepared, I’d love to chat.

My support is unconditional.

I’m here for you — whatever your preferences, choices around pain relief, or personal values. In the lead-up to your birth, we’ll spend time getting clear on what matters most to you, and that’s what I’ll focus on throughout. My only goal is a positive, supported birth experience — on your terms.

✨ Interested in working with me as your doula?

Take a look at my Birth Support Packages or Postnatal Support to see what might suit you best.

Or if you’re just exploring your options, get in touch — we can have a relaxed chat and go from there.

Doula: Text

the information and techniques Julia had taught. "
